Anika James Performing Arts Scholarship for NATS Competitors

This scholarship has been established to promote young female singers who participate in the annual National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition.  It is offered to female competitors in the Music Theater Competition. Anika participated in this competition in 2006 when she was only 14 years old.  She received high marks for a first-time participant and was selected to compete in the finals. Anika James Performing Arts Scholarships at Jordan High School

As a tribute to Anika and her love for the performing arts, Anika’s family established two scholarships at her alma mater, Jordan High School in Durham NC.  One was for the senior class and one for the class of 2009, which was the year Anika would graduate.  In 2010, the Class 2009 Scholarship was replaced with a second scholarship for the senior class.   In 2012 the Anika James Foundation adopted these scholarships as part of its ongoing projects.
