Who is Anika James?

Anika Michelle James was born on April 28, 1991, to a loving family. She led a comfortable life and became an accomplished vocalist, poet, and performer, but shone brightest while serving and caring for others. She was a firm believer in oneness of humankind, equality of women and men, and universal education.

Anika had great appreciation for the diversity and nobility of the human family and the promotion of human dignity. She was a loving teacher of junior youth, a beacon of guidance to friends, and a source of comfort to those who crossed her path.

Anika had tremendous love for children and performing arts, which inspired her volunteer work from the age of 11. She seemed happiest when teaching children how to sing and act. In 2006, Anika was the recipient of the Mayor’s award for her volunteer work with children.

On September 25, 2006, Anika returned to the heavenly abode, leaving her family and friends to love and cherish her forever.

To celebrate Anika’s life and to follow the path of service she began at a very young age, the Anika James Foundation was established on September 12, 2011. To learn more, please visit www.anikajames.com.
